Welcome to the St. Peter in Chains Parochial School website.  Our Catholic elementary school, located in the residential West Hamilton area, serves the parishioners of St. Peter in Chains Church as well an non-Catholic students in the vicinity.  Our total enrollment of Kindergarten through Eighth grade numbers 240presently.

Directed by Father Ron Haft, and under the supervision of Charlotte Sharon, principal, the school is staffed by twenty-one highly qualified lay faculty.  All teachers hold Ohio certification including our Art, Music, and Physical Education teachers.

Primary students are afforded continual progress and advancement according to ability level.  Small group instruction facilitates meeting the needs of the children.

Intermediate and Junior High levels too, are predominately grouped programs designed to provide students material commensurate with particular potentials.

Local and national testing results attest to higher academic standards upheld by the faculty and administration.

A cheerful, relaxed atmosphere pervades.  Discipline is instilled through self-motivation and enhanced by a religious spirit which characterizes the student body.

While functioning as the training ground for Catholic adults, the school imposes no religious doctrine upon children of non-Catholic parents attracted by the disciplined atmosphere and exacting academic standards.

Equally attractive is the innovative curriculum, keeping pace with most recent educational trends, yet, retaining solid fundamental training in basic subject areas.  Textbooks are kept current.  We are very proud of our academic program which follows the Archdiocesan approved curriculum.

In keeping with the school philosophy, St. Peter in Chains seeks to accommodate the physical, mental and moral development of each child to its fullest capacity.

Mrs. Theresa Valerius is our Religious Education Coordinator.  Working with the teachers and students, weekly school liturgies as well as various liturgical services are prepared.  All religion teachers hold catechist certification.

Our Resource Center consists of a computer lab and library.  The lab houses 26 computers all networked and wired to the Internet.  In our Library we have four workstations where teachers and students may search what is available in our own library and our hometown public library.  We have support staff for both areas of our resource center.  Also, our classrooms are networked into both the library and lab and have Internet capability.

Our students are engaged in many special programs and activities.  Some are as follows:

Student Council                    Honors Chorus                    Hamilton City Spelling Bee

Christmas Program                Scholastic Book Fair            Cincinnati Post Spelling Bee

The school also has an extremely active PTO which holds one major fundraiser a year.  Our parents also volunteer time in the computer lab, library, classrooms, cafeteria and playground.  Their time is a gift of which we are very grateful.

Students may choose to bring their own lunch to school or select from our cafeteria menu.

Services funded through the State of Ohio allows us to have a psychologist on faculty as well as a reading and math specialist, a school nurse and a speech and language pathologist.

If you were to walk around St. Peter in Chains School, you would see students as creative, critical thinkers engaged in problem solving.
